02 Jul JGA Recruiting: Architect with specialism in Conservation or Retrofit
John Gilbert Architects is seeking an experienced architect or architectural technician to work on a range of conservation and retrofit orientated projects across Scotland.
- Architects must be ARB registered.
- Architect technicians must have at least 3 years experience and CIAT membership.
We are looking for a full time person to run a variety of projects, from inception to site work, completion and evaluation. These projects are a mix of retrofit projects, conservation work and work within the studios Hab-Lab building performance section. There will be opportunities to work on other types of projects. Multi-tasking, flexibility and attention to detail are key personal attributes. You will be adept at leading your own projects and working as part of our larger team.
An enthusiasm for retrofit, conservation, housing, community development, Passivhaus and ecological design are all desirable and beneficial. We support our staff in aspirations for PAS2035 qualifications, IHBC, RIBA Conservation, RIAS Conservation and other accreditations. We use ArchiCAD software, experience in this software is desirable and we will support the successful applicant in becoming proficient in its use. We operate to ISO9001, ISO45001 and ISO14001 standards.
The successful candidate will be based in our Glasgow studio (restrictions dependent). A full, clean UK driving license is desirable. Salary is dependent on experience and is reviewed annually.
