02 Jul JGA Recruiting: Energy Performance Designer
John Gilbert Architects is seeking a designer with a specialism in energy performance.
We are looking for a full time person to assist the team with a wide variety of energy performance work, this includes new build Passivhaus projects, EnerPHit retrofit projects, SAP and involvement in the practices award winning Hab-Lab POE work. We are looking primarily for assistance with calculations, embodied carbon advice, design advice, thermal modelling and detailing advice. Whilst an architectural background is an advantage we would consider other related backgrounds such as engineering. Experience and knowledge of energy modelling in SAP, PHPP or other software is highly desirable.
The candidate will gain substantial experience on domestic and non-domestic projects. We will support the right person in gaining Passivhaus and Section 6 accreditation.
There will be opportunities to work on a range of new build, retrofit, conservation and consultancy projects, small scale and large scale. Multi-tasking, flexibility and attention to detail are key personal attributes. You will be adept at leading your own projects and working as part of our larger team. We support our staff in aspirations for RIAS sustainable design and other accreditations. We operate to ISO9001, ISO45001 and ISO14001 standards.
The successful candidate will be based in our Glasgow studio (restrictions dependent). A full, clean UK driving license is desirable. Salary is dependent on experience and is reviewed annually. John Gilbert Architects is an equal opportunities employer. We expect to offer an initial 12 month contract with option for extension.
Please send submissions as PDFs (less than 10mb) of your CV, images and covering letter, stating why you would like to work with our team, to: firstname.lastname@example.org.
