Job: Passivhaus Designer / Consultant

Passivhaus Designer / Consultant – Hybrid working from our Glasgow office

John Gilbert Architects is seeking a full time certified passivhaus designer or consultant to work on a range of projects across the UK, including private housing, social housing, schools, leisure centres and retrofit work. 
The primary role is delivering Passivhaus certified buildings, we expect that you will prepare PHPP for projects (with support of others), provide design advice and supporting contractors on site in achieving this standard. A secondary role is assisting architects and designers in JGA with achieving low carbon projects including design advice, on site inspection and trouble shooting and assisting with Passivhaus certification activities. Multi-tasking, flexibility and attention to detail are key personal attributes. You will be adept at leading your own projects and working as part of our larger team. We operate to ISO9001, ISO45001 and ISO14001 standards.
Between JGA and our sister organisation, Sussed Sustainability, we have more than 20 Passivhaus projects worth in excess of £200m, giving the right candidate a fantastic opportunity to work on a massive range of projects, with a range of design and construction teams and be at the forefront of Passivhaus development.
The successful candidate will be working hybrid in our Glasgow studio two days or more a week with option to work from home for the remainder. A full, clean UK driving license is desirable. Salary is dependent on experience and is reviewed annually. John Gilbert Architects is an equal opportunities employer. We expect to offer an initial 12 month contract with option for extension.
