Housing, Sustainable Architecture

87 new flexible and sustainable homes on a challenging brownfield site next to a railway line. A mix of terraced and semi-detached houses laid out to Homezone design which prioritises pedestrians and creates a safe environment for children. All homes are built to Housing for Varying Needs standards and several units are designed for wheelchair access. There are also flats for people with learning disabilities and with wheelchair facilities. All houses are barrier-free. Some south-facing houses have upper floor sunspaces to make the best use of sunlight and an acoustic fence built using Rockwool reduces noise from the nearby railway line.
