Working with Reidvale Housing Association, Glasgow, we assisted them in considering how changes to their standard void specification could help improve building performance and indoor air quality of different traditional sandstone flats. A integral post occupancy study was conducted , which includes environmental quality testing, airtightness testing and thermography. The findings were share among the Hab-Lab partners and used to draw the energy retrofit recommendations for Phase 2.
The proposed improvement works focused on a detailed airtightness and thermal bridging assessment, which was combined with the installation of a central demand controlled MEV system. This measure intends to achieve warmer and dryer indoor air to improve the energy efficiency of the flat, as well as the health and comfort of the occupants.
