Following initial design by Graham Drummond of Passivhaus Associates and his son-in-law – Architect Stephen McPhail – we were involved in preparing the building warrant, construction stage drawings and specifications for Graham’s house in Fife.
It will be home to Graham, wife Fiona and their disabled adult son Robbie. The mainly single-level home features some specialised aspects for Robbie who has Dravet Syndrome, a catastrophic neurological condition.
We worked closely with Graham to complete the details for what will be an exceptionally high performing Passivhaus. Building on the success and lessons learnt from their certified Passivhaus at Craigrothie, Graham and Chris Morgan have developed an ultra energy-efficient house with lots of natural light and a healthy specification internally.
This is essentially a self-build project with the main contractor for the project, Geum Ltd, owned by Graham & Fiona to ensure quality and financial control of all aspects of the build.
