What we do
John Gilbert Architects is a small design studio, based in Glasgow, passionate about designing places for people and the planet.
Experts in ecological, low carbon development designed with the community, we undertake design work from a strategic level to detailed architecture with creativity, enthusiasm and knowledge. We have been at the forefront of the social and community sector for over 20 years delivering award-winning designs for places across Scotland.
The majority of our work is for public bodies, housing associations and community organisations. We have worked with over 30 housing associations, development agencies and local authorities, developing a keen understanding of their requirements and constraints for all sizes of project.
Accredited in Sustainable Design and Conservation
We are the only company to have both of our directors are accredited in sustainable design by the RIAS, John Gilbert is one of four who have advanced accreditation. Matt Bridgestock is a chartered town planner and a certified Passivhaus designer. John Gilbert is accredited in conservation by the RIAS.
We have seven staff including four architects. We work from a single office looking onto Glasgow Green in the east end of Glasgow.
