John Gilbert
BSc. MSc. FRIAS
John is accredited by the RIAS in Sustainable Design and Conservation Architecture.
He has extensive experience in social housing design and has been involved in improving the quality of Scottish housing for the last thirty years. John has led the practice since 1992 with the aim of promoting sustainable architecture.
He was educated at Queens University in Belfast and worked in Belfast with a number of communities before joining ASSIST in Glasgow. John co-wrote the Tenement Handbook and has acted as an external examiner at Queens and Strathclyde Universities. He is also Chair of the Scottish Solar Energy Group and the Scottish Community Projects Fund.
