Our design for this open competition addressed the challenges of creating a landmark building on a empty site while retaining scale and importance when a new district is built around it. Our proposals met the challenging budget and delivered an innovative piece of architecture that performs for staff, visitors and the public.
Based on our pre-assessment of the project, we estimate a BREEAM score in excess of 90%, comfortably meeting BREEAM Outstanding criteria. Based on our initial modelling the natural building materials sequester sufficient carbon to offset more than 12 years of emissions from the building.
