07 Nov Cairngorms Field Trip
In what has become office tradition, JGA takes a weekend away to collectively discuss office strategy and long-term ambitions and goals. This year, we spent Halloween weekend at Tomintoul, a small, rural village in the Scottish Highlands.
Amidst the strategy meetings, we took the time to visit a few places of historic and cultural significance such as Balmoral and Corgarff castles, the Still art installation, and the Devil’s Elbow viewing point. We also took the opportunity to visit our friends, Moxon Architects, at their new Quarry Studios in Cairngorm National Park.
Picking up from the astounding 1,483 miles we collectively cycled during the 2022 Cycle September challenge, our weekend was definitely not short of sports activities, from running and hill walking to morning yoga.
The stars aligned, metaphorically and literally, as clear skies on our first night provided the perfect opportunity for star gazing and aurora scouting at Tomintoul’s Dark Sky Site.
Our weekend away was the perfect time to sit back, reflect on how far we’ve come since John established the practice in 1992, and look forward to a future where we continue to change people’s lives through architecture.
